Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital New Grad RN Residency- Fall 2020

Hi! Does anyone know if LPCH will still be opening up their new grad app for the Fall 2020 cohort or if it will be delayed due to the pandemic? I know the app should be opening up in April but their website still has the info from the past cohort period.

Does anyone know if the interviews will be in person or on online? I'm still waiting to hear if I got an interview, but I'm trying to think ahead.

Hi all, post from one of the Nurse Educators in charge of the new grad program:

"Those waiting to hear back from Lucile Packard - I spoke to the Residency Director today and majority of candidates have NOT been notified yet for the residency program and those interview invites should go out hopefully in the next few days. Interview dates for OB are scheduled for July 20-23 for HR & then Unit interviews tentative July 27-28!"

Hi All! Do your applications still in "submitted" or do they say in review now? Also, Does anyone know how many people normally apply/ how many people they usually take each cohort?

Mine still says submitted. I'm not sure about your other question. If it's anything like Stanford adult, I think maybe ~400 applications for 15-20 spots.

Does anyone know if they do virtual interviews? I am from Boston so I'd ideally like to minimize the travel I'd need to do.

I don't know the answer to this but seems like something you could email HR about without bugging them. It's a short turn around from the time we find out to when actual interviews will be happening.

Mine also still says submitted. I have a friend who applied to Stanford adult side (I did not) and she said hers says "in review". Also, I think a lot more than 400 people apply for these coveted positions, but I could be wrong. I've heard closer to 1,000.

Yes, I applied to the Stanford adult side too and mine changed to "in review" very quickly--maybe within a week or so. I wonder why the process seems to take so much longer with LP?! So thankful that our torture should be over in a matter of days ? & I definitely believe 1,000 people apply. I'd be happy just to get an interview given those odds.
