I am being asked to manage 2 units in a 120 bed LTC facility, which is a toal of 120 residents; need input please!

Specializes in ICU, CM, Geriatrics, Management.

Please learn how to relate positively with staff.

You don't feel this is too much and a possible risk of losing your license?

I'd say it depends on what you have to do. How many Skilled? Do you have to attend all IDT meetings? Wound Rounds? Staffing? MDS's?

Their are 60 skilled, 60 long term, attend all meetings, make wound rounds, no staffing or MDS

So why would you think you would lose your license by taking on the responsibility of attending meetings and making wound rounds?

The number of residents isn't your problem. I suspect your problem is that you don't have a clear outline of what your job responsibilities will be. Until you really know the job expectations you can't possibly know if you can do the job.

Remember: you won't know what is REALLY required until you're on the job.

What they say at the pre-hire sessions often means very little. Be careful!
