I was wondering if LTC centers are good ways for new grads to get med/surg experience or any experience that might get you future jobs in actual hospitals?
Does anyone know anything about emeritus nursing, at wilson mountain?

Many hospitals dont consider LTC/nursing home experience. A friend of mine ran into that problem when looking for hospitals jobs after one year in a LTC facility.

working in a subacute/ rehab unit in a skilled nursing facility should help you get into either a transitional care unit or med-surg at a hospital. You just also have to be confident in your abilities when they interview you.

That is the route I took when I graduated. I stayed at the facility for over a year and was hired into Med/Surg. That was 5 years ago, I am not sure what the strategy is now.

I work in LTC/rehab and one of my coworkers was recently hired at a local hospital to work in a Neuro ICU.
do you know of any places who are currently hiring new grads now?
Nobody advertises that they are looking for a new grad. You just have to put yourself out there and emphasize the skills you acquired in nursing school. If you had a clinical instructor who thought highly of you, or any teacher from your nursing school who could vouch for you utilize them as a reference.
