Hi. I am applying for entry to LSU's CARE program for my Accelerated BSN degree in August 2008. I am just getting ready to send my application off, and was wondering if anyone here has done this program, or is currently enrolled in it.
Mainly, I'm curious about the admissions standards. I have always been a very good student, and maintained above a 3.5 in college. I also have an advanced professional degree in another field. I am hoping these things will make me an attractive candidate for the school. I am curious how competitve the program is, especially for someone who is not a Louisiana resident.
Also, I'm wondering what the program is like. I know that it's got to be pretty intense if it wraps up all the nursing education into 18 months. What is a typical schedule like? How many hours a day and things like that?
I'm really excited about this opportunity, and looking forward to reading any responses here. Also, if anyone is currently applying as well, I'd love to connect with you so we can bite our nails together.
I'm going through all the forms myself - so exciting! Hang in there MiasMommy! Surely your mail's just slower! I just can't quit staring at the "congratulations" on the top of the letter - this is so unreal! Congrats to you also tmnurse!

Sorry I made you rush home ! Well, not really. I would've done the same thing. I've been checking here almost hourly during the day via my iPhone myself. Glad it was worth it! I was suprised to see I was the first to post. This is still so surreal to me. I didn't think I had a snowball's chance in you-know-where of getting in. I won't believe it until I'm really at orientation in June! Can't wait to meet you guys!

insurance card or student ins. plan form
Supplemental Plan form
Authorization of Title IV funds form
Technical standards form
copy of driver's license
[*]July 17 - health forms submission deadline
[*]July 17 - online compliance forms deadline
[*]August 7 - mandatory family day orientation
[*]August 11 - tuition and fees deadline
[*]August 12 - classes start
And I'm already running into problems with accessing the compliance forms (#4). The registration pdf gives the web address: lsuhsc.edu/no/administration/ocp/training%2005-31-05.aspx but it doesn't work for me (or at least I'm not finding the forms). And I'm finding some of the paperwork (student fees/tuition) has 2008-09 instead of 2009-10. If anyone sees anything I'm missing, PLEASE point it out!

After doing some digging around (the link doesn't work for me either, but I ran into a similar one), it looks like #4 is on online training type of thing that we need a username and password for. Maybe they'll tell us about that in June?
This makes me feel a little bit better nomoreit... but as you can see I'm in the same boat as you! I already received my mail for today and it's not there

So does this mean we can't be accepted or do you think they have different dates based on when they mail the packets out? Like you said they do it in rounds.
Anyway, just really nervous.. I'm sure you can relate!!!

DARN IT! I knew that would come back to haunt me when I reread my post this morning - you have 7 days from the date of the letter to mail your signed acceptance form and the check. My letter was dated on the 23rd.
