LSU Fall 2018 BSN

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello from California! Thought it was time to create a thread for those applying for LSU's 2018 Fall BSN program. This thread is set up for hopes of meeting (comparing info) with future students, and would love feedback from those that have applied before and or are currently in the LSU BSN program.

Couple of questions:

Where you from (though I am sure most are from the LA area, I am coming from San Diego, military spouse)?

Where are you currently going to school?

Have you taken the HESI yet? If so how was it? Study recommendations?

Are you currently an EMT/CNA/RNA or any other form health provider?

I am personally super excited, beyond nervous, and honestly have my head down working my bum off to get up to this point.

Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Also I know myself and others would GREATLY appreciate any information (average GPA's, HESI scores, personalities, interview process, essay questions) from current or past students.

Alrighty *fist bump*, we got this!

Holy Cross has about half the pre reqs, Southeastern has most of them too I think. There's Southern and Our Lady of the Lake in Baton Rogue. Probably more that I can't think of at the moment.

I seen someone mentioned about paying 2 application fees. How do you go about paying the LSU application fee??

There's the one you pay NursingCas which is online and then there's one you pay to LSU. I think LSU is supposed to sent you the form you have to pay and you mail off the money or money order. I rhink you can also bring it in person. I'm not sure when you have to pay for the LSU one but you can print a copy of it out yourself. Look to the left of where it says application form and it'll say "LSUHSC School of Nursing Supplemental Fee Form."

On their application information page there should be a link right under the tuition tab that says "LSUHSC School of Nursing Supplemental Fee Form." I'm not sure when it has to be paid though.

After you submit your NursingCAS application, they will eventually send you an email and that pdf attached so you just print it out and complete it then submit it with a money order or check for $50.

For the Hesi, was there a calculator on the whole math section? Also are any of the sections timed?

I dont remember and I just think that the entire exam is timed, not individual sessions.

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've heard from this forum so I wanted to check on everyone since the application deadline is tomorrow. It would be nice to follow everyone through this application process so we can help each other out. So what has everyone been up to? Any concerns about the application so far?

I just read that it suggests that we send our official transcripts in 3-4 weeks in advance and I did not do that, freaking out!

When did you send yours?
