Hello from California! Thought it was time to create a thread for those applying for LSU's 2018 Fall BSN program. This thread is set up for hopes of meeting (comparing info) with future students, and would love feedback from those that have applied before and or are currently in the LSU BSN program.
Couple of questions:
Where you from (though I am sure most are from the LA area, I am coming from San Diego, military spouse)?
Where are you currently going to school?
Have you taken the HESI yet? If so how was it? Study recommendations?
Are you currently an EMT/CNA/RNA or any other form health provider?
I am personally super excited, beyond nervous, and honestly have my head down working my bum off to get up to this point.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone. Also I know myself and others would GREATLY appreciate any information (average GPA's, HESI scores, personalities, interview process, essay questions) from current or past students.
Alrighty *fist bump*, we got this!
kbro196! Hola!
Where do you plan on taking the HESI? I am planning now on taking it, I just need to find a place to take it. Are you in Baton Rouge? Would be cool if a part of the triathlon club extended into the NOLA area. Ive done a couple of triathlons, and it would be neat to be part of the club, if we would even have time to train.
Excited to "meet" you. Good luck!
Hey guys, I don't know if you all know this but there is a separate application fee from NursingCas. LSU has their own application fee that you have to pay so really we have to pay $50 to NursingCas and another $50 to LSU. I almost missed this small detail. It would be nice if we all should see if we're on the same page since we only have a few weeks left. We have our initial 16 hour prereqs, Biology, Bio Lab, chemistry, college algebra, English I, and psychology. Then we have the HESI which should automatically send to the school after completion if you entered their code when registering for the exam. We also have to send transcripts to NursingCas for verfication and other parts of the application as well such as personal information and academic history. What else would I be missing?

The HESI is honestly not that bad especially if all of your classes are fresh in your head, you should definitely make at least an 85%. I wouldn't take it lightly though, I'd still study for it.
