Hello!
I wanted to start a thread for all of us applying to LSU’s CRNA program starting in 2020. Past forums have seemed to be helpful in keeping up with timelines and connecting with one another. Can’t believe it’s time, but here we go!

Awesome, I bet we do!
Me either! I have reviewed vent settings in detail, vasoactive drugs down to their G-proteins and ion channels, CCRN material, etc. I'm honestly more anxious about the personal question aspects of it as I tend to be a little socially awkward at times, lol. Hopefully, they find that slightly endearing. ?
? I think anyone who’s put on the spot to talk in depth about themselves will come off as awkward! Lol. I think this entire waiting process has made me more anxious and nervous than wondering about the questions they will ask. Also the fact that LSU is taking forever to get back to anyone. ?

Valid point. Haha! In the back of my mind I am kind of relieved that it will be over soon. I'm the type that likes to prepare a lot (maybe excessively)...so when I reach the point that I feel like I have done all that I can, that's when my nerves start to take over. I keep remindng myself that if all else fails, another year of critical care experience will do nothing but help. ?♀️

I've heard the same thing from CRNAs I know that went there. The best piece of advice that I have received so far is do not be afraid to say that you don't know an answer. They are looking for someone who will be a safe provider and ask for help when needed.

Holy guacamole. Haha I will be underprepared if G proteins and ion channels is what I need to know. Lol

I'm probably completely overpreparing but I would rather be able to offer more explanation of the MOA and them be happy with "it works on the alpha1 receptor" rather than not be able to tell them a drug works within the DAG/IP3 pathway and that be what they want to know. lol
