LSU CRNA 2016

Published

I just wanted to start a thread for everyone who is applying to LSU's CRNA program for the next year. I just applied and I'm waiting to hear back for an interview, and wanted to see if there was anyone else out there waiting.

Recently had my interview. There were 2 instructors and the director of the anesthesia program interviewing me. There clinical questions were extremely detailed. I told them that I rarely give dopamine and dobutamine but they still asked me about them. I correctly answered that neo is an alpha agonist and an arterial vasoconstrictor but they wanted to know which alpha receptors neo acts on. I knew that dopamine at low doses increases renal perfusion but they wanted to the exact mechanism of action that increases renal perfusion. I'm pretty devastated that I wasn't able to answer those questions correctly. Hopefully we hear back from the interviews soon. Good luck to everyone applying this year.

Hey y'all! So I had my interview yesterday, overall I think it went well so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! There were 3 SRNAs there to talk with you before and after your interview who were great...definitely helped to calm the nerves. The interview itself was quick...a couple clinical questions and then some personal questions. They told me I would hear back from them in mid-November. The waiting game starts! Good luck to everyone!

Same exact situation :) just heard back 2 days ago... Accepted :) Good luck everyone :)

are they informing people at different times or do they tell people based on when they interview? I know interviews were still being held on Friday, oct 23

I was called on the 23rd!! í ½í¸€í ½í¸€í ½í¸€

Congratulations to everyone that has been accepted... I have not heard anything from lsu yet. Still waiting. Im taking it as a bad sign since I have not been called yet. Just out of curiosity what were the clinical questions y'all were asked. I was asked about 2nd degree heart block and dopamine vs dobutamine.

Hi thank you! I was asked to tell the difference between pa02 and Sa02 and also dobutamine vs dopamine. Hopefully you hear something soon!

I received my acceptance phone call yesterday!!! Amen! Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone on here

I was also asked about dopamine vs. dobutamine and 2nd degree heart block.

I found out yesterday that I was accepted! I interviewed on the 21st.

I too was called with an acceptance! My questions were on the cardinal signs of increased intercranial pressure, differences between dopamine and dobutamine, and the receptors those drugs act on. The rest was more or less a time to get to know you. Good Luck everyone - I hope you get that call!

Now just waiting on an email to make it really official :)
