  1. Recently had my interview. There were 2 instructors and the director of the anesthesia program interviewing me. There clinical questions were extremely detailed. I told them that I rarely give dopamine and dobutamine but they still asked me about them. I correctly answered that neo is an alpha agonist and an arterial vasoconstrictor but they wanted to know which alpha receptors neo acts on. I knew that dopamine at low doses increases renal perfusion but they wanted to the exact mechanism of action that increases renal perfusion. I'm pretty devastated that I wasn't able to answer those questions correctly. Hopefully we hear back from the interviews soon. Good luck to everyone applying this year.
  2. I got an email on the 15th to schedule my interview. I submitted my application 2 weeks prior to due date.
  3. I am starting NACII this semester and there are 5 books that are on the required list. I am wondering which books are absolutely necessary to purchase and which ones I can pass on? Help please! I'm always spending money on textbooks that I never end up using. The required texts are: 1. Lewis, S. & Heitkemper, M.M., Dirksen, R.R., O'Brien, P.G. & Bucher, L. (2011). Medical-surgical nursing: Assessment and management of clinical problems. (8th Ed.).Elsevier-Mosby. th 2. Yoder-Wise, P. (2011) Leading and Managing in Nursing. (5 Ed.). Elsevier-Mosby 3. Baird, M. & Bethel, S. (2011). Manual of critical care nursing: Nursing interventions and collaborative management (6th Ed.). Elsevier-Mosby. 4. Perry, A. & Potter, P. (2006). Clinical nursing skills and techniques. (6th end). Elsevier-Mosby. 5. Gahart, B.L. & Nazareno, A.R. (2009). Intravenous medications 2011. (27th Ed.). St. Louis:Elsevier-Mosby
