Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

Specializes in Surgery and Psychiatry.
Because life throws curved balls.... I will wait to apply for the Spring 2013. :( But I wish everyone whose applying for Fall 2012 ALL THE BEST.

Dont feel bad..Im also applying for Spring 2013 due to a curved ball but it will be worth it in the end. Are you applying for the traditional BSN program? If so, maybe we can keep in touch since Im applying for the traditional BSN program.

Hey! Greetings from Orygun, I just got my interview scheduled today! So what should I wear? I know it's an intense program... but how long does it take for you to finish? I'm currently taking Pathophysiology right now... and LOVE IT! I got a 85 on my HESI, hoping that gives me some leaverage if I don't do as well on the interview!

No call here and it's Feb 14th! My grades were awesome. Hesi score not so much. My application fee went through ... anyone else NOT gotten a call yet? People have already started interviewing! =(

Is anyone else who applied for fall 12 out of state?

I had to fly down for the interview, which was good because I got to see the school and everyone was really nice. I might have done poorly on the interview but both my HESI and GPA (95 and 3.6 respectively) were good. How long will they be doing interviews? I did mine on the 11th of February.

Hey i was wondering what were the questions they asked you feb 11 at the intervie?? I am applying for spring 2013! Any questions that you remember them asking you would be a help!

It takes 3 years to finish and they don't let you graduate early. Pathophysiology is a course to be taken in your second semester. They are kind of weird about getting credit for certain courses. Some of them they want you to take at the particular time. For example, I took A&P1 and A&P2 prior to attending and they would only let me take credit for Anatomy and told me they want everyone to take Physiology at the same time. This is my first semester here, so I'm not sure how they go about Pathophysiology. I would assume they'd let you take credit for it, but it may be another course that they want you to take at that specific time no matter if you've taken it before or not. You're HESI score is really good, and I don't know what your GPA is but I think you have a really good shot!

According to the dean of Lsu nursing school, The letters for LSU nursing school is possibly coming around next week!! He said there are no denial letters for Fall 2012 only about 125 acceptance letters and the rest are alternate letters!! Get ready!!!

Brittanyj, what do you mean by an alternate letter and just curious how did you find out from the dean? I was expecting a letter about 3 weeks from now, but the fact that they might come next week makes me really excited!
