  1. Thanks for responding!! I got my financial aid information. I accepted it and now I am racking my brain as to how I am going to come up with the $12k in "unmet needs". Should I appeal it and hope and pray there are some kind of scholarships? How did the "single moms" make it through nursing school without any monetary help? I will keep my job but I can only work every other weekend and I'm still not sure if that is enough. I DO have to pass the program!! =) STRESSED!!! I have faith that I have gotten this far on a wing and a prayer but that won't pay the entergy bill!! Can someone tell me more about scholarships and such.
  2. Has everyone heard back from financial aid? I keep checking the self service site and it doesn't say I have anything pending, only a bill. Go figure. Hoping I am not the only one. I really wanted to walk into this program with my books in hand and a plan for bills, rent, and such. Crossing my fingers that I hear something really soon.
  3. Like a needle in the haystack .... if anyone found a red folder during orientation PLEASE let me know, message me. Possibly lost in the badge area, library, or bookstore. Thank you!!
  4. Never mind about the about post. There will be an open enrollment kind of thing around July 1st.
  5. Can anyone private message me if they currently use LSU's health insurance and/or planning to get it. I have made several inquires by phone and have read the website a few times and I am still stumped. I am wondering if I am to get insurance through school and have it paid for by my student loans, is it possible to sign up NOW, and use it to pay for the physical, immunizations, and such? That would be much cheaper. Just trying to figure out how much each visit would cost is making my head spin. Thanks!!
  6. Does anyone have any insight for the insurance they they suggest for those who don't already have their own? AND, is there some where in New Orleans were it is cheap to get the physical and the rest of the shots? Last time I went to Concentra when I was sick it was $115.
  7. I was in the second group also. I live in New Orleans, so mail didn't have too far to travel!
  8. I'm in,too! I nearly vomited when I opened my mailbox. I knew I was going to cry either way when I opened it. So thankful it was good news =) Congrats to everyone else!
  9. I really didn't give Charity any thought. I decided on LSU nursing for reputation, location, price tag, and such. This is mainly because I want to go straight for the BSN, in case I never go back to school to further my education. I am certain that Charity is a superb program, and while doing my research on schools in the area, Charity was the most recommended by locals, mostly by people that never went to nursing school. I would apply to both in your case. I truly believe that you get what you take from these programs. After all, there isn't a HUGE market for NCLEX study guides, for no particular reason. Best of Luck to you and your future endeavors!
  10. 2pm! Didn't want to rush in the morning to the most important interview of my life
  11. I got the call the other day. YAY!! =)
  12. I forgot to give ya'll an update. Mardi Gras invaded my schedule. I got a call the other day for March 10th also. Super excited!!! =) Good Luck eveyone!
  13. Whew! I can decompress ...
  14. No call here and it's Feb 14th! My grades were awesome. Hesi score not so much. My application fee went through ... anyone else NOT gotten a call yet? People have already started interviewing! =(
  15. Spoke too soon! The check was cleared! I am willing to BET $$$ that I will be the very last phone call. Hope is not lost. Getting nervous about a call though due to mardi gras. Everything thing slows down ... lol
