LSU BSN

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I got in!!!!!! I got m letter today! After 6 months of worrying!!!!!!! Guys, calm down. You will get your letters, do not give up!!!!!!! Congrats again guys!

They sent ours in waves 2 years ago - I got mine a full 8 days before others got theirs and I know they had better qualifications than I did (just because I got to know them later on) and others got theirs before me. I don't know if that's what they're doing this year but trying to give people hope!

Allie, surely there's no way you didn't get in with those qualifications. I know someone who got into the traditional program last semester with a 3.2!

I got in with a 3.0. I busted my a** on all the other portions of the admissions though! I wrote a really good goal paper and practiced questions for the interview. I think my biology degree helped my chances, too. Work experience in the ER probably didn't hurt my chances either. I'm living proof that GPA will only get you so far. Allie, don't give up. They told us 7-10 days....I read on the forum from a couple of years back that didn't get their acceptance until like 3 weeks after they'd been mailed out. Also, maybe they did mail them out alphabetically. My last name begins w/ an "A". Pleaseeeee don't give up!

I applied to the traditional program and got my letter yesterday (I already posted that) but I just wanted to let anyone who applied to the CARE program that my friend also got her letter yesterday for it! And to everyone who is still waiting, we all know how messed up the mail is in Louisiana, it always has been! Don't worry just yet! I honestly think the staff at LSU probably just pick up a stack and mail it and its not an alphabetical thing. Hope everyone finds out sooner than later though, regardless of the outcome. Did everyone in the traditional program who got their letter already get the advising date of July 14th? My friend in the CARE program got June 23rd. Can't wait to meet yall!

Yyep! Ill be there july 14th! Can't wait to meet yall either!

I got June 23 advising in the traditional program!

I got June 23 in traditional program for scheduling as well!

No letter again today

Allie have you heard anything yet? I haven't received anything yet and it's killing me to know!

Hey I waited too long to tell u guys that u got in and my advising date is on June 23 aka my birthday lol

Does Anyone know how will we know that our confirmation fee/form has been turned in to them in time? I mailed off my letter and fee last Friday and I'm sure it will arrive there in time, but I have been told by several students there that it is very unorganized and there were times that the mail has been sent to other buildings. I am just taking precautions to make sure I am not forfeited! I thought about going to the school and dropping it off myself but that'll mean they would have two my of checks.

tiger2be, if you're that concerned w/ making sure the school gets your acceptance letter/check, email the lady who's number and name are listed on your acceptance letter: (moderator edit of initials - please do not post names and/or initials that could identify anyone in your program per tos) i emailed her sun night and promptly got answers to my questions this morning; she is the enrollment coordinator! i also emailed student health services sunday night about blood titers that i had drawn at the hospital i work at 2 years ago when i got hired. they also replied to me this morning. and fyi guys, if you do have blood titers from 2 years ago (the lab results) that will be sufficient. they are not cheap to have run! you have to have titer proof of varicella zoster! but yeah, tiger2be, just look at your acceptance letter and her name, number, and email address are listed. she'll answer any question u may have!
