Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
I'm nervous about getting in...I have all my prereqs completed (graduated already) a 3.2 GPA in the 16 credit prereqs a 3.5 in the 34 units of prereqs, 81% on the HESI (AP brought me down..) - I was called later for an interview and only got to choose the March 19 deadline. Do I even have a decent chance? I'm going to be well-prepared for my interview I'm just so nervous if I even have a shot at all...
Guys, what are the directions for getting to the interview at LSU on Saturday the 19th? I'm very unfamiliar with the campus. I know how to get there, I just don't know where to park, what entrance to use, what floor to go to, etc. It's for 9:30 the 19th like I said. If someone could fill me in before I have to call back the admissions lady for directions. Thanks!
scared88, park in the garage right in front of the nursing school. There should be a sign on the door to the crosswalk. Go through there and take the elevator to the 3rd floor. As you walk along the crosswalk, be on the look-out (on your left) for a sign that says "Nursing School Interviews - 3rd floor" or something along those lines. Walk through there and when you come to the elevator, take it to the 3rd floor, and right outside the elevator is the sign in table.
For my 10:30 interview on the 12th, they took me as soon as I got there, which was about 10 minutes early. My interview lasted 10 minutes at the most. And yes, you can leave right after it's over. Good luck!
Hay all:
It looks like im not going to be the only one who's there for the March 19 interview. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips for mens dress for the interview. I was thinking like blazer, slacks and tie, but any comments or help would be appreciated.
Thanks and good luck,
Travis
I was asked a few different questions than the ones that were posted, which I expected. I was asked the one about who my support system was. I was also asked what I value more, good grades or understanding the material. Then I was asked which value is the most important to me. Then I was asked what the definition of nursing to me was. Another one was have I ever found myself in a situation where I needed to change the opinion of the people around me because they were doing something unethical. Then they talked about how studying in nursing school is 100% different from studying for pre-reqs, i.e. you have to read and study the material before you learn it in class. I think it went well, but I guess the thing with interviews is you could have bombed it or aced it and there's really no way to tell haha. I also asked them how many people were being interviewed for the traditional program (didn't get any info about the CARE program) and they said around 160. How did everyone else feel they did?? The students who interviewed me were REALLY nice and they made me feel super comfortable.
how did you handle the question about being in an unethical situation?? I'm really worried about what they're looking for as far as answers are concerned....my interview is March 19 as well...good luck everyone:)

We've had 2 phys exams this semester, both were curved almost 20%. Questions aren't THAT confusing but you just have to read it carefully. Anatomy is easier because it is pretty much memorization, but don't slack as the material can snowball on you. Good luck everyone!
