Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I got a call for my interview today around 11AM! It was pretty exciting even though I know everyone gets one.. It's my first time applying and I'm very nervous..

is anyone that is in the program reading this still? if so how hard is the first semester? i hear that phys is hardest,and i also hear that the way the tests are worded it may be confusing to people. how do all of you handle these things?

I STILL haven't received a call. I called the admissions office today and they said they are making interview calls but...I just don't know I'm still worried. I meet all the criteria. I just feel like it's been too long.

Is this a bad sign?

I got my call late too! Does anyone know how many people applied and/or how many people they are accepting for fall 2011? and if the budget cuts affect this semester's admission? I still have an outstanding course in micro biology, and I am really worried!

i probably couldve gotten in last semester but they declined me because i didnt have micro finished (i was in the process of taking it) possibly because of budget cuts. they accpeted 80 students this semsester. I had a 3.4 gpa. Im definetly more competitive this round. My gpa boosted to 3.6 and im finally done with all pre reqs. Idk if thats exactly the reason why i got declined cuz they dont tell u. all iknow is each case is different but it is possibly a factor

What questions were asked?

I was asked a few different questions than the ones that were posted, which I expected. I was asked the one about who my support system was. I was also asked what I value more, good grades or understanding the material. Then I was asked which value is the most important to me. Then I was asked what the definition of nursing to me was. Another one was have I ever found myself in a situation where I needed to change the opinion of the people around me because they were doing something unethical. Then they talked about how studying in nursing school is 100% different from studying for pre-reqs, i.e. you have to read and study the material before you learn it in class. I think it went well, but I guess the thing with interviews is you could have bombed it or aced it and there's really no way to tell haha. I also asked them how many people were being interviewed for the traditional program (didn't get any info about the CARE program) and they said around 160. How did everyone else feel they did?? The students who interviewed me were REALLY nice and they made me feel super comfortable.

I got the same questions as kleinlg and the girls made me feel really comfortable. Does anyone know when we will find out? Do they send us a letter or what?
