Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
Kaitlyn,
If I were you I would go ahead and see an advisor, make a back up plan... but I would also NOT give up hope yet. I mean, there's still a chance being of being an alternate and then actually getting in if they decide to accept more people.
I remember someone saying they accepted 83, and originally someone said they were accepting 100. So that's 17 spots they MIGHT fill if they can budget for it!!
Good luck!
As far as the master schedule goes, sarjan is correct. My advice would be to just explore the site as much as you can. Don't limit yourself to future, current, prosepctive, etc. They are not going to do much to tell you where to go. They will update the site before they tell you what's going on, believe me. If you get a pop up that says you're not allowed there, hit "cancel." you just might be permitted to go there. KEEP CHECKING THE WEBSITE and check it indepth. They will use that to say "I told you so." If there's one piece of advice I can offer for LSUHSC, it's to tell you to be proactive. Nobody will EVER tell you where to go nor where you need to be, you'll just be expected to be there and there will be no excuses. I can only pray it will be different for you guys.
As I've said before, don't count on real time information from LSUHSC. The disorganization is unbelieveable.

Hey cpk... I was wondering do you know when we need stethoscopes for the traditional bsn program? I'm asking because I want to know if I should ask for one for Christmas since they are kind of expensive...

I spoke to someone in charge yesterday. The acceptance letters went out over a week now. The only letters they are sending out is alternate, and denial. If you are still taking any pre-reqs no matter if they are science or not YOU do not get in due to budget cuts and they had to take less students this round. I will try again to reapply and hopefully get in next round. congrats to those of you who did and had all your pre-reqs done. I only had one class left and I am in it now...and it isn't a science class.
