LSU BSN

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I spoke to someone in charge yesterday. The acceptance letters went out over a week now. The only letters they are sending out is alternate, and denial. If you are still taking any pre-reqs no matter if they are science or not YOU do not get in due to budget cuts and they had to take less students this round. I will try again to reapply and hopefully get in next round. congrats to those of you who did and had all your pre-reqs done. I only had one class left and I am in it now...and it isn't a science class.:crying2:

Well thanks for the info.. I suppose now I should go see my an advisor

Kaitlyn,

If I were you I would go ahead and see an advisor, make a back up plan... but I would also NOT give up hope yet. I mean, there's still a chance being of being an alternate and then actually getting in if they decide to accept more people.

I remember someone saying they accepted 83, and originally someone said they were accepting 100. So that's 17 spots they MIGHT fill if they can budget for it!!

Good luck!

Kaitlyn,

Also if you get alternate you will most likely get in. There are always people who apply to more than one program and will choose another program over LSU so just keep your hopes up!

Thanks y'all for the encouragement! I'll post my results as soon as I get a solid answer from my letter

Good Luck Kaitlyn! :)

Is there anyone else who has been accepted for Spring '11 who is looking to live off campus?

Does anyone know our official start day next semester. I am trying to figure some vacation dates out--- Also has anyone been able to reach anybody about finding out the dates for our Advising Sessions dates, etc?? Thanks in advance!

Kona,

I think I remember seeing on their website that we start January 10th. Like, registration on the 10th, orientation on the 11th, then classes on the 12th (or whatever dates the second week of jan are).

The spring 2011 schedule for the school is online.

Hope this helps!

As far as the master schedule goes, sarjan is correct. My advice would be to just explore the site as much as you can. Don't limit yourself to future, current, prosepctive, etc. They are not going to do much to tell you where to go. They will update the site before they tell you what's going on, believe me. If you get a pop up that says you're not allowed there, hit "cancel." you just might be permitted to go there. KEEP CHECKING THE WEBSITE and check it indepth. They will use that to say "I told you so." If there's one piece of advice I can offer for LSUHSC, it's to tell you to be proactive. Nobody will EVER tell you where to go nor where you need to be, you'll just be expected to be there and there will be no excuses. I can only pray it will be different for you guys.

As I've said before, don't count on real time information from LSUHSC. The disorganization is unbelieveable.

Has anyone received info on Housing? *sigh* I don't want to be a pain in the butt calling them everyday.

Hey cpk... I was wondering do you know when we need stethoscopes for the traditional bsn program? I'm asking because I want to know if I should ask for one for Christmas since they are kind of expensive...
