LSU BSN

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I also just applied for LSU nursing for Spring 2011! One if my friend's mom is a teacher there and she said for the interview to definitely know why nursing, why LSUHSC, the biggest obstacle you've overcome in your life, and a time when you've had to overcome racial or social adversity in your school. Hope this helps!

Thanks whodat89!!!! It sounds a lot like what we wrote about in the written statement. But that last one about explaining a time about overcoming racial/ social adversity in school is tough. Thanks again for the heads up so I have time to ponder over a response. Hope to see you next semester!

hello everyone just applied for spring 2011. good luck to all applicants who applied it would be great if we can all get in. i have a few questions and maybe you guys can help me. when should we hear back from them to see if we have been accepted? does everyone get an interview? i'm looking to stay in a dorm down there but i guess you cant apply to that until once youve been accepted. any information would be appreciated. look forward chatting with ya'll.

I was told that we should start hearing about interviews starting in early-to-mid September, so soon!!! The way that the process was explained to me that was after the board reviews all applications they will begin inviting only the qualified ones for an interview (so not all applicants will be interviewed). Most likely starting with the top choices and working down the list until the class is filled. I know that this is the same process that my husband went through for medical school so I am sure that the nursing process is very similar. I would assume that the interview process could last for several months, maybe even through December. So if you are not asked during the month of September I would not freak out.

I have no idea about the dorms but I would start looking at apartments around the area-- sometimes they are cheaper, especially if you find a roommate.

I just turned in my application for LSU's nursing school on Aug. 12 for the Spring 2011 semester. does anyone know how long it will take before you know if you are invited to interview?? thanks!

Hey Ya'll!

So, I know it's probably still early, BUT... since these last two weeks of August seem to be going really slowly...

has anyone been notified of an interview?

still waiting here, but I did notice that my admissions application check was deposited by LSU so hopefully that means my application has been reviewed-- but that is probably just wishful thinking

I applied as well for spring 2011 im actually at LSU now taking a few more classes like abnormal psych and micro 1011 and LA history. i hope i get in..its actually bitter sweet for me because i love LSU but i have to think about my future. if i dont get in ill switch my major until i can get into nursing school.

yea i also noticed they deposited my check too. does everyone get interviewed? i thought the interview was part of admissions? but it seems that not everyone gets one according to forums i've been reading. how many people get accepted? how many applied? if anyone knows these id appreciate if you could answer them.

hello everyone just wanted to let people know that they are asking people for interviews because someone called me today to set it up for september 18th which i believe is a saturday. Does everyone get an interview? keep me posted as well on ya'll status good luck to everyone.

I got called today to schedule my interview! So excited!

ETA: My interview is also 9/18.
