LSU BSN

Published

Hi everybody,

Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.

I took mine July 19th.

shoot well I guess it has changed then. Good luck with everything! I follow this thread though so I've seen a few of your posts with your scores. I'm pretty sure you have nothing to worry about. You'll be accepted.

aw, thanks superanxious... that's very kind of you!

Are you at LSU, or already graduated from LSU?

I graduated in 2008, so I'm beyond ready to start school again!

oh no prob. I'm at LSU but I'm taking the fall semester off this semester to wait for nursing school. I can't wait to start!!

What about the GPA for the inc class? Any ideas there?

I don't think we will know the average gpa of incoming applicants until after the application process. And even then I don't there will even be an "average gpa" for people admitted. The gpa of people accepted will range anywhere from 3.0 to 4.0. As long as you have a 2.8 and do well on your interview and Hesi you have shot. I asked the advisor in New Orleans and thats what she told me.

Did any one apply for the LNF Woodard nursing scholarship this year, or for past years? I'm getting antsy waiting to find out and I'm wondering when they notified recipients in years past...

Thanks!

Hey everyone--

So I just turned in my application this afternoon to start the Spring 2011 BSN program. I read other posts that said it will probably take a month+ to hear if we have been accepted for an interview. However, I am more concerned about the interview process. Has anyone personally gone through the interview process or have any friends that have? I am curious about the type of questions we will be asked, how long it will last, and any other details that would help us future interview-ees.... Thanks for the help and advice in advance!!!

Yea i'm pretty nervous about the interview also. I also would like to know a little more about the interview process. I've heard a little bit tho. I heard its about thirty minutes, three interviewers (two students one instructor), its supposed to be really laid back, they're really nice. Questions are like why nursing, who has influenced you the most, why LSUHSC. There were a few others I can't remember and there was one really weird one like explain a time you had to overcome racial or social adversity at work or school. But yea if anyone else has any other details for us guys PLEASE help us! thanks yall!

KonaDog.

Did you happen to ask them when you would be notified about an interview when you turned your application in?

Or, anything else that might be good to know?

Thanks Superanxious! That was very helpful!!

Sarjan-- I was told by one of the advisors that we will be contacted for interviews starting in September. Time is going to go by so SLOW this next month, I'm sure...
