Hi everybody,
Im new to this site and could really use some advice. Im starting LSU traditional BSN program. Was wondering if anyone has any advice about what to expect and what I should do to prepare. Also if anyone is actually a student at LSU that would help or if they are starting in the Fall as well.
ok purchased the international ed of vander's not to shabby...brand new $52 paid for quick shipping. found the anatomy book at some website, but it was overseas and would be paying $15 for shipping also a bit worried about paying for something that's not even in the country...or continent for that matter.
no finaid yet either, probably won't get it until school starts since my money goes straight to them. I'll just have to reimburse myself when the school gives me back the rest of my money. It's coming out of the savings for now...

Your first semester, you just wear regular clothes. No uniforms till soph II. Plain white shoes come into play when you wear uniforms. The lecture rooms can go from downright freezing to steaming hot in one class period, so I'd suggest dressing in layers. The only big no no dress-wise is no cut offs. Another one that's somewhat enforced is no short shorts, but I hope you're not wearing shorts right now
and with the temperature changes in the lecture rooms, I don't see how you'd want to wear shorts anyway (people still do in the warmer months).
Getting up at 6 am, I was often in ratty scrubs and t shirt with a hoodie or other long sleeved shirt closeby in case it got cold in the room. Oh, the cadaver lab - absolutely no shorts or open toed shoes - I wore scrubs or sweats with old tennis shoes. And the cadaver lab is COLD! Be prepared or you will be miserable for the 3 hour lab (I speak from experience - haha!). Also, you don't want to wear anything you'd wear outside of school into lab because it will stink forever no matter how much you wash it!
