I got in. My letter was sent on the 10th and I got it today (the 12th) and I live in BR.

However I am on the fence. There is no way that I can afford to live in New Orleans right now and I am locked in a lease until August 2013. Anyone ever done a long commute to the school? I mapquested it and I live 1 1/2 away which would mean a 3 hour drive each day. :/

I may have to decline because if I can't commute and I can't afford to live there right now I have no other options.

What are y'all doing if y'all don't get in? reapply? or try to go somewhere else and if so where? I'm going to holy cross in the spring to take some classes then will apply to the nursing school for the fall( 2013)....the only thing is it's a little expensive...do y'all know of any other bachelor program options in LA?

i got in! they mailed the letter out the 11th, and i got it today. so THERE IS STILL HOPE to everyone waiting, and i am praying for y'all. thank god because i was really starting to panic and it's cutting it pretty close to next semester. it says Jan 4th is the mandatory new student orientation. does anyone know if it is the same for everyone?and if anyone wants to carpool with me, i live on the northshore, but i won't be taking the causeway. i live right by the twinspans so that would take longer.

that's awesome! i wish it were me ! maybe when i get home there will be a letter for me.....

i just don't get it i have a 3.3, did well on my interview and my paper was great. i did get only a 76 on the hesi, do yall think that's why i haven't gotten in yet? this is so depressing :(

i think a 76 is above their requirement for the hesi, but you needed above a 700 on critical thinking so you might want to check that out too. i had a 3.4 nursing prereq. i think yours is fine. i got an 89 on the hesi,i don't remember what i got on critical thinking but it was over 700 and my interview was absolutely horrible in my opinion lol. my letter was great but i caught one simple mistake on it after i turned it in. i guess it all balanced out somehow. they are really late on sending them out this time so try not to freak out and give it a few days (easier said than done, i know.)

i think so. if you look at the admission criteria it doesn't say the score you need to get on the hesi even. unless i missed something but check it out: LSUHSC School of Nursing | BSN - Admission Criteria i was told the minimum when i went to the information session for new applicants. i want to say they told us you had to at least make a 70 on the hesi and over 700 on critical thinking. i had it all written down but I've misplaced it somehow. but try not to think about it too much you're going to stress yourself out and you might have gotten in!
