Hi!
Wanted to open a thread for anyone applying for the Fall 2019 BSN program.
Anyone else?

It was a far cry from previous years. They are truly trying to see if you can form sentences and also think on the fly. There are plenty of people who didnt even get a full page in, and still got it. Its all about the holistic approach in finding the right nursing student. Saw a lot of you out there today walking around on your tours. Hope you had an enjoyable time.
Hi. I was wondering if you have any advice on which books are necessary to buy for the SOPH I and which books are not?
Hola! As for books
Anatomy: everything you need is on the powerpoints provided. Make sure you spend quality time in the lab!! Also just click through your slides whenever you have time. It is an easy course IF you took the time to study. They tell you what you need to know.
Physiology: the book did help me at times to clarify some questions I had. But also it is another class in which everything you are tested on is covered in lecture and powerpoints. That being said I had taken Physiology prior, so things weren’t “new” though I still needed to work hard to comprehend the information.
**please email me [ cheb13 ] lsuhsc and I will share the infamous Vann notes, which we all got from a prior class. **
Intro to Nursing: if you want to do well, you need the book and you need to read the chapters. Period.
Abnormal Psychology: I think for your cohort it was mandatory as a prerequisite, we didn’t need the book.
Health Assessment: I did not take it during the summer, so I will be in class with you guys and from what I hear you will need the book bundle.
Hope this helps and looking forward to meeting you all this semester.
One more thing, I would recommend that you remove “LSU” from your Facebook group name. Naming it such gives the school permission to everything posted on there. Not that you need to hide anything but trust me, you don’t want to deal with any ramifications if something were to be posted that someone could find offensive. Same goes for any group chats started. Just name it something general.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
