LSU BSN Fall 2017

Published

Hello,

I will be applying to the LSU BSN program for the fall of 2017. I know that it is early, but I wanted to get an early start on the application process. I also wanted to reach out to other people who are also applying to this program for the same class. Does anyone know when the application will open (since its due in Jan. 2017)? Does anyone have any study tips for the application?

I've mostly heard that in-state student get preference, but i dont know if that is true either

I know it's true for some of the other programs they offer but I don't think nursing

probably not. I wonder how many people are applying this cycle.

I wish I knew. But I believe that they accept 100 people

that seems like pretty good odds. depending on how many are applying

I can't remember but I think last time I applied it was 200 applicants but now that the requirements have changed I'm hoping that it sort of decreased.

what was different about the requirements then?

Minimum gpa was a 2.8 now it's a 3.0, they allowed C's in science courses, there was no hesi score requirement, and the process was different (written statement due with application and interviews were in person)

ok maybe that will decrease the number of applicants since the score requirements increased.

Definitely a possibility. I wish I can talk to someone who applied in August!

maybe they have a thread somewhere on here too

I found one, but the requirements seemed different even last semester. They didn't have to do a proctored essay they did interviews at the school.

I've heard that the questions are usually general and about nursing. Why do you want to be a nurse? What qualities do you have? things like that
