i took ls1 today..... got an a! only two more exams until fcca and cpne!!!!!
i have read a lot on here about how ls2 was a lot harder than the other exams. does anyone share this opinion or think that it was not too bad? i felt ls1 was going to be really hard because of all the material in the content outline. i was very stressed before the test. however, that test (to me) was very easy compared to all the study the outline has us do. also, the practice was a lot harder than the actual exam. or that is at least what i thought.
does anyone think ls2 is the same way.... or is it really that hard???
congrats on the great grade for ls1! i have heard the ls series was difficult and ls2 seems to be the worst. i am on ls1 now, almost finished with the cardio portion. i am hoping to test first week of feb. may i ask how you prepared for the exam? did you use any of the extra study materials and how did you do on the practice exams? good luck on ls2
i used the recommended textbooks (older editions) minus the pharm book. i havent bought that one yet. i also glanced over the studygroup 101 notes. i studied for about 1 week before taking it. i was very worried about failing before i went in. i kicked myself for not rescheduling.
i took the practice tests and make a 69% on a and 68% on b. that really bothered me. the practice tests were very hard to me. nothing like my exam was.
just in my opinion, i really felt that cardio and respiratory are the hardest and most in depth systems. so, i was really expecting a monster of a test.
good luck!
that's interesting as i have sent cancellation emails as required three times and i have sent a help desk ticket and have gotten no response. they also proceeded to charge me for another month.for ls3 i have found the videos are missing material and cover material that is unnecessary for the exam. they do help but not as a stand-alone study method by any means.
that is what i was going to say about these outside materials. every single test i have taken so far has had a lot of material on it that was not covered by sg101. i realize they are just notes, but i am giving a headsup to all those that are only using sg101. by reading the recommended textbooks, i have found every answer coming from those books. it was very clear to me after my first test, that i better read the textbooks. it's the small little details that you will learn to answer those questions.
I purchased SG101 notes for a couple of exams but I found myself using the recommended textbooks. I just feel like I would be missing something on the exam if I just read SG101 notes alone and not the textbooks. It is a lot of material to read and hopefully I can remember it all for the exam.
Btw, Congrats SHARWELL on passing!!
I would call the 1888 number, I called couple times and it's the same IT guy... he seems very nice just ask him to cancel it if you don't use it why pay for it.
So I didn't need to call them. This morning I received the notice that they gave me a refund. I am sure a response to either the help desk or via email response to cancellation request.
I was so nervous about Ls2, but just went over the EC study guide material, and got a B on the exam. I can see where people certainly find these tests more difficult, alot of information. LS3 on 2/3, got to get busy with studying!! Good luck everyone, seems like a bunch of us are all at the same point.

i used the smetzer/suddarth book. it cost me about $10. it is a huge book. i have found that my test questions are coming straight from that text. so....... if it were me i would get that book if you can. i dont have the newest edition. its the 11th or something.
good luck!!!!

this is just my opinion. i really felt like i studied all these minute details in anticipation of this exam being very diffilcult, but it was actually not difficult. my questions were very broad. not very specific at all. i really tried to study the abg readings, heart rhythyms, etc. and i didnt need it. not to say you won't.
i used the recommended textbooks (older editions) and the sg101 notes. mainly the textbooks and ec outline. i also used an nclex practice book to test myself as well.
also, if everyone is not aware- on ec website in the blackboard area there are forums in there like this one. but, they are ec forums and the ec faculty answer questions, post comments, have chats about the exams, etc. they help too.
good luck!
