So yesterday was my next to last clinicals for the semester. My instructor paired us with a nurse to follow/assist for our clinical. I got paired with an LPN, AND SHE WAS THE BEST.
Of all my clinicals of all the facilities and of all the nurses I have been Co assigned to, she was by far the best.
Before I even got to her, she had printed the floor's assignment sheet and I explained how she set herself up and how she worked her BRAIN. She gave us the rationale for EVERYTHING she did, gave her tips and tricks for being efficient yet thorough. Never brushed off her patients, took a break from her coffee break to get a patient his pain meds. She got everything done without being rushed, WHILE letting myself and another student pass all meds and complete all the charting.
If you are out there LPN on Med Surg, THANK YOU. You were incredible and ran circles around all the other RN ,BSN, MSN nurses on the floor. I wanna be you when I grow up.
Love, the ADN student nurse.
