I am sorry to say, that it sounds like you were working outside your scope of practice, the sad part is the hospital hired the LPNs and now are letting them go. 60 days is not enough time to get your RN. Sorry to hear about this situation and to tell nurses at holiday time is a lousy situation.
I was encouraged by the "in the system" part of looking for jobs. That says to me that the employer is not booting people to the curb in the holiday season but, rather, has identified a problem with care delivery which is dangerous for the nurses and the hospital, and they are taking decisive action to eliminate that problem. Hopefully the employer will make transferring within the system a painless and quick process as these LPNs literally put their licenses on the line for the employer in the gastro jobs.

I work in Norfolk Virginia at the local Hospital. All the LPNs where I work was have 60 days to find a job within the system because they were told they are working out of their scope of practice by giving moderate sedation. All of them are Great Nurses and have been in Endoscopy a really long time. Does anyone have any suggestions? This is just not fair!!!
