Lpn vs Rn

Published

Why are ppl yelling that LPN is a waste of time? If not going to community college forever to get pre-reqs and to get slapped on a wait list that does not guarantee a seat in a nursing program....then yes Iz I'll take my Lpn seat then BRIDGE.....What's the big deal! Sheeesh

No issues with that...It has been so much lately, sometimes it gets to a point that these threads could be good use for merging...

When I got in AN in 2004, I looked around for the discussions, use the search engine, etc, to see if I could get a response to a question. But I digress...my hands are going to get arthritic on my iPhone for repeating support :)...and I'm ok with that.

Yes. AN needs a whole thread topic forum for ranting. Then the negatives can go in one pile and the positives in another. That way future nurses won't think that the profession is full of drama queens/kings and self-ritious people who think they are entitled to everything... :cautious:

...Or is it?

Btw, this "self-ritious, entitled, drama" package isn't necessarily what this original post is about, but a few examples of what would be on said forum. Not looking for a fight.

^and my response is OK...

This nurse has moved on from her humane moment of weakness of people having to fight for their opinions. :)

My response is there's a TON of posts to support OP, so whatever the OP chooses is right... :)

If these posts bother you so much, why not skip over them? Why even waste your time commenting on them?

Just my two cents!

^ never said posts bothered me...our your two cents towards the OP, like I did....

Stop hijacking the thread and looking for a "snacking" post, because mind is not one...again, former LPN, frustrated for the OP and many posts that have LPNs or future LPNs defending their decisions.

Back to the post... OP, stand by whatever decision you make; hope you are doing well! :)

Agree - lets get back to the topic at hand.

I'm also a former LPN who was able to get into the LPN program (1990) much faster than the RN program.

I went straight from the LPN program to the ADN program (in another state due to husband's military career).

I too realized a few years later, when Magnet came along that getting a BSN was worthwhile. However, I also saw that getting an MSN (and beyond) was in my best interest.

Education is never wasted.
