Hi I was recently told that going to a vocational school might be the best route for me to complete my LpN then eventually complete my Rn. I am living in south west fl and I have never attend a Vocational school. I would like to try to enter into there program by March(next date available) what I would like to know is what is the difference between attending vocational vs regular college to complete your Lpn.

Vocational schools and business colleges are usually for-profit entities, and they are run very much like businesses. The tuition at a vocational school of nursing is guaranteed to be more expensive than at community colleges and state universities. In addition, issues sometimes arise as a result of transferability of credits earned at vocational schools.
The benefit of attending a vocational school/business college is the fact that you can get admitted quickly and often graduate sooner, which saves you time (but not money).
By the way, I attended a nonprofit vocational school for my LPN/LVN education.

i attended a vocational school (lpn) that is based in a high school campus. my lpn program cost me $3500 for the whole program and had 100% nclex pass rate at the time.
you will have to repeat the pre-reqs for rn if you want to continue your educations as credits from vocational schools do not transfer. i did this and took my rn pre-reqs from my community college.
good luck.

I just graduated and it was a good school but, I still have alot of problems. Does anyone have any help for me in getting charting by exception? I have been shown so many ways and I can not seem to it in chronilogical order? Is there a trick? I either leave things out or the notes do not flow the way they should
Hello, I was wandering if there is a format to charting and if anyone could give me a lesson on how to organize my thoughts to keep events in chronilogical order. By the time I get out to chart I have forgotten half of what went on in the pt room. and I end up having to make corrections. And if I remember is is not in the order it was done and I could use some help Pleeezzz
Thanks
Lyn

if you are having a problem remembering what should be in your charting, why not do what I did?
I had a cheat sheet that I carried in my pocket with ABGs, lab and other important values, AND a list of chart note items in order (observations, any equipment/tubes/drains/etc.), dressings, vitals, mobility, voiding, diet, DNR/DNI status, isolation status other assessment notes, generally head-to-toe, etc.
referring to the pocket reminder was so helpful. I often wondered why my classmates didn't adopt my simple method of keeping track. can't tell you how many times they would ask me what more they should include in their charting.
I got great marks on charting because I did a thorough and concise job every time.
I should add that in med/surg, after the initial observations as stated above, I would chart chronologically.
