Hi to everyone-
Does anyone have any experience as a Travel LPN? What agency did you work? Would you recommend the agency? Any advice to future travellers?
Thanks in advance!

lpns will find it more difficult to find travel opportunities than an rn because of the extra cost but i have talked with lpn who were hired on as travelers
check out the thread on travel nurses and the one for lpn
also if you have a definite part of the country that you are interested in check in with that location thread too
Great advice!
Thanks for sharing....

There are a few traveling nurse agencies that hire lvn/lpns....nursesrx.com and healthcare staffing network 800-388-2610 .... There more for us lvn's maybe not as much as Rn's , but there are some that pay for our traveling expenses and housing....there is actually a traveling agency looking for Lvns to travel to Hawaii, California, Arizona, etc......Not just Rn's , but Lvns there is so much work for nurses out there period. Good luck I hope you guys find what your looking for .......

Hi Dawn
I was a traveling LPN for 10 years & loved almost all of it, , The most importient thing about traveling is, "the Recruiter" if you have a good one, you have it mail. I have worked for several companys, Favorite Nurses was one of the best, another one I worked for several years was Medical Express. but there is so much more to working as a traveling LPN then meets the eye. It took me 5 years just to learn how it works, what you can get & what you can't. I will tell you as a traveling LPN most of the opening are in LTC. IF you have a great Recruiter, then you can get into hospitals & work there which I think is so much better, but if you start working in LTC, it is almost impossible to get into hospitals. I didn't like it, but that is just the way it is.

honestly, there's some circumstances that you will need to fix your papers for you to be legal working there but its too hard for us to get that legality if we don't pass the board exam ryt!.....
