how long must a student wait after the date of graduation from an LPN program before they can sign up to take the licensure exam?

I graduated June 7, and sat for (and passed) boards on June 13. The DON at my school was on top of getting her paperwork into the State ASAP. So, part of the "wait" depends on your school.

I graduated 12/11/08, mailed paperwork/registered online at Pearsonvue the next week, took my NCLEX-PN last week (1/08/09).

Wow, you are all lucky! I graduated on Aug 15th, and didn't get my ATI until a month later. Our school insisted that we do our applications thru them, they would not verify our graduation otherwise. One student had to wait two months because the dean forgot to sign her app; I would have been quite upset.

In any case, good luck to you, do lots of test questions, and don't forget to relax as much as possible. :typing

As a follow up, I received my physical license from the BON on 1/17/09, just 9 days after taking the NCLEX-PN (far from the 4 weeks they say it takes).

As soon as your paperwork is done, we filled our out a month before graduation and the school sent it to the state. We had some girls that took the NCLEX just a week or so after graduation.
