Hello all, I was recently accepted into an LPN program, it is 11 months long, & I am to attend class 3 days per week. Has anyone heard of a program like this? Most of the other programs that I've looked into are 5 days a week; I've heard you normally do three days lecture, 2 days clinical. So I'm not sure how this works. Any input would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

My school is 3 days a week 2 lecture days and 1 lab day then when clinical start it will be 2 lecture days 2 clinical days if you go fewer days most likely you will be in class longer hours.
Thanks for your input. I was kind of wondering about that. I'm going to have to work full time while going to school, so I need to check and see if mine switches to 4 days at some point.

My program is like this. I just finished the first semester (of 2) and it started out with 3 lab days a week, then went to 2 lecture, 1 clinical. I worked full time and pulled an A, so it can be done. Next semester because of different clinicals I might end up with 2 lecture and 2 clinical some weeks but that won't be normal. The schedule will stay largely the same. This program is aimed at working people, and everyone in my cohort was working, most full time. It works pretty well with 12 hr shifts.
I work full time and on a rotating shift we start a new class monthly and I'm 4 months in with a 4.0 it can be done. I am however going part time next month because it does get to be exhausting.

my program is like that also, 2 days lecture and 1 day of clinical or lab, but with programs like this you would have to do alot of self study
I agree Self study is a must I do far more than the recommended hours of studying I study whenever I can.

Every school is different. Some go for longer days/clinicals but only meet a few days a week. The one that I attended was part of the public school system, so their hours were close to that of k-12 grade, with a slight variation for clinicals. Some programs were 5 days/week for a year, others were 4 days/week for 16 months, each 6.5 hours a day, working theory and lab together on some days, clinicals on others. By the last few months of the program it was all clinicals, 7a-1:30pm

I believe when I went it was only like 3 evenings a week. It's been awhile since I went to PN school (2007-2009) and can't remember lol
But we had class at least two days and I am sure clinicals the other. Good luck!
