Hello everyone! I'm an IEN here in Manitoba and I'm having a hard time deciding whether to pursue LPN or RN first because many people here were telling me that RN processing takes 2 years. Is it true? I want to be an RN as soon as possible. Hope you guys can help me out with this. Thank you very much!
When would be a good time to apply to be an RN? My goal is to hopefully have permission to take the licensure exam pass, and then apply to become an RN once I get a job as an LPN. It would be really expensive to apply for LPN and RN at the same time.[/quote']It's not that expensive. You can do both at the same time.
Are you scheduled for CCA already? I just received a letter from CLPNM. I am scheduled for CCA this June. It takes 1 day to complete. No written exams included. I know someone who is scheduled for CCA (CRNM) On September this year yet the results of credentials assessment came out October of 2012. It's almost 1 year waiting time.
I completed all the CLPNM requirements by Dec 11 last year. By Jan 30 I already have the assessment results. So roughly 6 weeks. How long did it take before the results of your CRNM assessment came out? No harm on trying the CLPNM assessment since the documents transfer fee is just around 30$ right? Good luck!I'm considering applying for LPN. CRNM will be the one to provide with the required documents if that happens. When did you start applying for LPN?
3 days from the time you completed the requirements? That was fast! And I thought the 6 week wait for CLPNM assessment results was fast. The requirements I lack are the ones from IQAS (which I guess takes several weeks to complete) and NCLEX RN verification from US. They're making almost everyone take the CCA so we better prepare as early as now :)
