LPN to RN online?

Hello a few yrs ago I found myself facing that question I 'm glad of my decision from a few friends I have here I went back to the traditional setting in a classroom at a local college where I learned more and I understood my transition from the LPN to RN role whereas online you cannot procrastinate, it is more expensive and you risk the chance in a degree that is not accredited and others will not accept it....I am so happy with my decision it worked for me. First make sure your state accepts an LVN to RN online program (such as excelsior). Here, in california, it is not accepted. Usually your state board website will provide that informatioin. While it is accelerated, it is very costly and completely depends on you to discipline yourself. If you are good at studying on your own and have the money, go for it.

I'm just going to do LVN to RN at a community college, it's a year long, but pretty cheap, it might cost me a grand.

Our school has an LPN to RN program that is just over a year(not online). You must be working as an LPN, and have 400 hrs paid work as an LPN. the course is supposed to be flexible, and only costs around 3000 (maybe less)

I want to know information about c-diff. I am an LVN but have not worked for a while now. What is it, how is it contracted and how is it cured. Does anyone out there hae ever had it or know of anyone sho does?

I am an LPN currently working on my RN at an accredited online program called Excelsior. A nurse I worked with at a rehab facility got her RN that way. I have to work full time and will soon have a little infant baby, so I dont have the time to sit in a classroom. The online program is go at your own pace, but I'm hoping to finish in two yrs!

What a coincidence! I was reading about C. Diff about five hours ago, as I am currently studying to take the NCLEX.

C. Diff (a.k.a. clostridium difficile)is a hard-to-kill bacterial spore. I have never met anyone or encountered a patient who had a clinical infection with C. diff, but it is the major cause of common diesases such as diarrhea and colitis. It is transmitted via direct contact, such as patient-to-patient. Hospitals use bleach and extremely hot temperature autoclaves to kill C. diff because it is difficult to kill.

Check first directly with Excelsior College. I asked them if they were affiliated with College Network and Excelsior told me they were not.

I am doing this right now.Taking my first class. Been an LPN for 10 years and am totally capped out on salary and am at the glass ceiling.The only way for me to advance is to get RN.MY advice is as follows: 1.Homestudy takes a LOT of self discipline.You will succeed if you are able to spend a lot of your free time in selfguided study.If you are not able to do this, a traditional program may be better for you. 2. Check out the college and university web sites before buying anything from companies like the College Network or I Study Smart.You can often get the same thing from the college directly and it is much less expensive (My microbiology class cost me $320 with one of those companies but Excelsior College only charges about $250 for almost the same preparation.In addition, when I am through, the exam fee will be $215. 3. The costs of this type of degree are higher than that of a local community college. There are enrollment fees (almost $900 with Excelsior) in addition to student activity fees graduation fees etc. In addition, the clinical fee is about $1500 at Excelsior.You would also have to pay for transportation to Albany and lodging because it is a 2 day clinical testing program. Often times your employer will only pay for "tuition reimbursement" and since this type of degree is often selfguided, you are often on your own for costs.4. If you are planning to continue to go through to RN, my advice is to do it as soon as possible--life steps in very easily and you very easily put it off and procrastinate until one day you wake up and 10 years have gone by.
