LPN-RN bridge programs in OKlahoma

I live in Texas. I recently moved to oklahoma. I work as a LPN in midwest city, Oklahoma. I am looking for a LPN-RN bridge fast track program. I heard a lot of negative things about platt college. Does anybody knows anyother school that do fast track. Wht about ITT?....any advice:nurse:

I would not recommend going to platt. I got my lpn through them. It was a painful and expensive experience. Also, I have heard the rn program is very expensive. I paid 28,000 just for my lpn. Another downfall is if u ever want to get ur bsn you will have to go through them for that too bc ur classes don't transfer. Just some friendly advice. =) hope u find a school that will work for u. If you are looking for some where that you can still apply to and start in the spring this won't help but if you're just looking ahead, Murray State has an online career mobility program. You will have to test out of the first year of RN classes (it can be done . . . I did it and I haven't worked as a LPN in two years). Classes are online with clinicals in Ardmore on Fridays and Saturdays. Not that far of a drive from Midwest city when it is only two days a week. My class will have 3 or 4 driving up from Sherman. can clincials be done out of state for this program?

I realize that this post is several years old at the time of my comment; however, I also realize that this thread is accessible to future browsers so I will post information related to this topic.

I live in the Oklahoma City area and have done much research on programs in the area. As far as the OKC metro area, there are 2 public LPN to BSN programs and they are through UCO and OU. All prerequisites need to be completed before applying. OU requires a minimum of 1000 hours of documented clinical work experience as an LPN as admission criteria. I am not sure of UCO but the website should supply the info. UCO has 2 locations, one in Edmond and the other at Rose State in Midwest City.

Rose State College also has an LPN to ADN-RN track. Prerequisites are the least in difficulty and number. There is very little math prerequisites and no chemistry prereqs. LPN's also need to have 1 year of experience (2000 hours full time.)

OSU-OKC has an LPN to ADN-RN program. TEAS test must be completed as well as prereq's. No experience as an LPN is necessary for their program; just an unencumbered LPN license.

Most of the programs also have a CLEP test for several subjects, usually Adult Medical/Surgical, Maternal/Newborn, and Pediatrics. Many also have a dosage calculation test that must be completed before. Refer to school's nursing website for material.

Also, OCCC and OU have fast track programs that can be completed in 16 months for people who already possess a bachelors degree and the required prerequisites.
