i will be taking lpn pre-entrance exam next month in florida, and need an advice regarding the preparation.
i have received an email which states that this book http://www.amazon.com/review-guide-lpn-pre-entrance-exam/dp/0763762709 (review guide for lpn/lvn pre-entrance exam, 3rd edition) should be used to as a review for the test. however, when reading the comments from other users, i am not sure whether i need a book or not. some say that the book does not cover strictly the exam only, but overall the whole subject, like an entire subject review. something that would fit more for people who have been out of a school for a while and need to catch up on the general information/knowledge. also say that some type of the questions on the actual exam were not addressed in the review book
not too worried about english and math section, but am worried about science, health and home aid. i just don't know what to expect.
if you have taken the test recently, please share some information with me regarding the test material. what kind of science do they expect you to know? environment or something like body parts, etc?
i have just finished the high school and don't want to spend $40 on reviewing something that i have just recently learned.
thank you.

What is the LPN Pre-Entrance Exam? The community college I've enrolled in told me their LPN program starts in Jan. and all I would need is to take the TABE test and have CPR certification. Are all places different? Sorry if this is a dumb question, just haven't heard of this exam. Thanks.

Never heard of it either. Take a look at the curriculum for the LPN program. See what classes they take and expect this test to see if you are prepared for those classes.
If they had one here, the science would not be that much. They don't take A&P in the LPN program. They only have to have BIO. But they do have to be a CNA. Although, I didn't find that difficult.

happy, are you serious that they do not take A&P 1 and 2 for the LPN program? How could you get to be a nurse without taking A&P? That is a pre-req here and even medical assitants need to take it.
To enroll in the License Practice Nurse (LPN) class my college issues this exam.
Thank you all for the replies. :)
Yes, I'm serious. No A&P at all. The only science they have to take is BIO. Just general bio. It's the same bio I got waved because I took it in high school.
I know. I think it's quite disturbing.

Hi,
Is this test the NLN-LPN ? I took the NLN-RN last week. I bought the book published by the NLN. I helped me a lot. Even though every topic on the exam isn't mentioned by the book, it still will help you to refresh your memory and give you an idea about the exam. The exam is timed, and unfortunately I run out of time on verbal and math sections. There are many practice tests on the book, It might help you to time yourself. GOOD LUCK !!!
