It is low maybe 13-16

I talked to my friend who just graduated and where she works started her off at 20.00. So I guess it depends on where you work..

DesertRN, your guess seems very low. I started almost 10 years ago at $17/hr as an LPN. I've never heard of anyone making $13/hr as an LPN in this area. I have a friend who started at $24/hr as a new grad LPN last year. The range for LPNs that I've seen in this area is $17-27/hr. You can always look through craigslist and see what different employers are paying since some post party range or starting pay. I know CNAs making more than $13/hr in this area with experience of course.

The region I am in is low. I have five years exp and BSN. Places here offered 18-26 depending on facility. I came from AZ making 30/hr and Kindred refused to hire starting that it was more than the administrator gets paid and since I had made 27 in a Kindred facility that would have to match it but could not afford it. The northeast region is very poor.
