Hello, I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the starting pay for LPN's in Northern Kentucky is, and if there is good job availability? Either LTC or Hospitals. Thanks in advance! :)

I posted on your other thread, but just wanted to let you know that doctor's office and some hospitals do pay less than LTC. I live in the Louisville area: Hospital ($14-$18), Doctor's office ($13-$17)and nursing homes ($16-$22) these are just the ranges i've seen for some of my CNA students that went on to get their LPN. For most of the jobs I've interviewed for the LOWEST i've seen was $15 PLUS you will get some sort of shift diff depending on what shift you work (second shift usually is higher) I have four yrs under my belt but only ONE in LTC so i've been offered $16-$18 at places i interviewed at. Just remember you do not have to take the first job offered, you can interview other places and find out who gives you the most pay, benefits ect. I chose to take a pay cut in order to teach because i liked no weekends, no holidays and 1st shift! However, if i worked at a LTC i'd make more money...i have three young children at home too so that is why i chose what i did!

oh meant to tell you to get on career builder or indeed.com and look up your area and see what places are paying...some have ranges listed on their job postings! And if you are right on the border of Oh, check there too, i've always seen lots of jobs in OH...my home state! =)
