Hello there I was wondering if anyone has taken or is in the program at North Adult. If so how long it took to actually get into the program. my plan is to go there for the LPN and then on to an LPN -> RN Program as if to do it in phases. let me know what to expect from this program if you can. thanks for any feedback......R:monkeydance:

Hey RN2B! I just graduated Feb. 07 from CPS I applied Nov 05, was accepted for Feb 06 class. Not long at all! They used to have an outrageous waiting list, but after more requirements, it weeded out alot of folks. I strongly recommend the program-alot cheaper than most and your in and out in 12mo. Good Luck!

CPS is bad business. The currently have their accredation as "provisional", not a good sign. Their program is roughly $10,000 twice CSCC. I applied to CSCC's LPN in Fbruary andws accepted. COTC also half the price of CPS as a 1 yearprogram. My advice is to get info eveywhere yu can. The Ohio State Board of Nursing can tell you about who is accredited or not. Contact every school you canto send you info. It's alot of leg work, but in the end it is up to you. Good Luck! *Chaberlain also has an LPN program

The CPS program is a 40hr/week program, don't know if it is still 8-4:30 M-F, but I think it is. This will be your full time job for the next 12 months. Chamberlain is outrageous in costs, which doesn't suprise me because it is owned and operated by DeVry.

Yes, in the end it is up to you. For me CPS was the best choice because you are in and out in 12mo. Not 12 mo after you finish alot of prereq's first, so its dragged out alot longer. Last time I checked cscc LPN program was part time so it takes about 2 yrs. Is that still true? When I started all these new schools were not up and running, and I figured that extra $5000 would be worth it 'cause why go to school an extra year when I could be working and go back to school to an LPN to RN bridge program.

Yes, CSCC's program is still part time. The only thing that a person needs to be careful of with the CPS program and doing a bridge program is that you need to make sure you get college credit for your courses, I have heard that not all the classes taken in programs like CPS's transfer over to college credit and you may have to repeat some courses. Now, this is what instructors have said, may or may not be true.

Yes, that is true depending what school you decide to go to for RN. The schools I researched that had a LPN to RN bridge program pretty much required that you have your license, and you would be required to take pathophysiology (med-surg) again. Even still, you would graduate within 12-16mo. (depending on which school). Oh, the schools I am referring to would be Chamberlain-16mo., Hocking-12mo., Bohecker-14mo. The other schools I checked out required WAY too many prereq's. I personally decided on Chamberlain because of they offer a BSN program, the days and hours of classes, and convenience of location.

If you go to the Ohio Board of Nursing web site you can see that the CPS program has full approval, not provisional.

My post stated "currently" meaning in JUNE it was PROVISIONAL. That status could change at anytime. My point was to research any school that interest you thoroughly. I still would not recommend CPS to anyone who plans to further their education beyond the LPN, or they will find themselves repeating classes costing more time and money.

I have been accepted and begin october 6th

this is what i have learned. The program is accredited ,it has a high nclex pass rate. and after completing the program you can go directly into at least one ADN program (hocking college). I have compared this program to other local programs. CPS is by far the best one.
