Independent Provider LPNs
Are there any Independent Providers out there? I have started the process to get my number and was looking to hear from anyone with what they have experienced. One question I have is, how difficult is it to get a client? I have gone to the website to look at requests for services. I also understand that this is basically a small business I am setting up and taxes will not be taken out, etc.........I am a very driven person to make this a success. Anybody with any advice or doing this type of work? (Oh, I'm in Ohio)

nurses with cancer
I am so sorry to hear of everyone's diagnosis. I used to come on here prior to passing my NCLEX for my LPN. But literally 2 weeks after passing the NCLEX I was diagnosed with lady partsl cancer (only supposed to happen between the ages of 60-80, I'm only 38, unlucky I guess). I finished treatment (25 external rads, 5 rounds Cisplatin, and 3 day internal rad) almost 2 months ago. I am just now starting to apply for my first nursing job. But I am scared because they are all requiring a physical. What I am most worried about is being discriminated against because of my cancer diagnosis. I am in remission and pray I stay that way forever. Has anybody else experienced discrimination because of their cancer diagnosis?

NCLEX Yesterday STRESSING today
I don't think the number you stopped at has any relevance. I took my test this past Tuesday, and thank GOD I was able to find out in less than 24 hours that I'd passed. I know exactly what you are going through. I also got my license already in the mail yesterday. So that was really quick. I studied by doing ALOT of practice questions. I have to say that is what helped me the most, not so much study all the material but getting in the frame of mind for the type of test I was taking, practicing slowing down. The suggestions on how to answer questions helped me most, I was able to slow down, and understand what the question was asking. I know the wait is killing you, I am wishing you luck!!!!!!!!!!

Were you nervous when you first started nursing?
Now that I have passed the NCLEX, it is time to look for a job. I plan to stay with my full time job, the pay is good, and work p/t on weekends while pursuing my RN, my current employer pays for my education, (I should say, my union pays). Now that the reality of passing has set in, I find myself getting nervous starting in nursing, AND I HAVEN'T EVEN GOT AN LPN job yet! Just found out today that I passed. LOL. Just wandering, were any of you nervous starting out in this field? Is this normal what I am feeling?

How many questions determine whether or not you pass or fail NCLEX-PN?

How many questions determine whether or not you pass or fail NCLEX-PN?
Good idea. I suggested they hand out injections of ativan before and after the exam. LOL. I prefer to be put into a medically induced coma and wake me up when the results are in. LOL. This is just an overwhelming experience. I've read others' experiences, and here I am going through the same emotions.

How many questions determine whether or not you pass or fail NCLEX-PN?
I'm praying for you. I took mine this morning. It shut off between 87-90 questions. Like you, I felt like I was guessing. I only know of one that I did get right. It seems like I had alot of pharm, math, and quite a few of the "select all that apply". I don't think the number of questions really determine pass or fail. I know of a few students I attended school with that got all 205 questions and passed, they were certain they failed. Both said they had no idea what the questions were asking. Good luck, I will be praying for you! I keep check our site in my state also. I said they are going to ban my ip address for continuously going onto their site. I know it is too soon to be posted, but I just can not help it. LOL.

Taking NCLEX on Tuesday
Just got home from taking my NCLEX PN. I am just numb right at the moment. I was asked something like 88-90 questions. I know it didn't go over 90 questions. I know this could go either way, just because it was not the maximum amount of questions. I just want to thank this site, because it helped me deal with my anxiety tremendously by reading other's experiences. Thank you. I am hoping that I will replying that I passed soon.

Why choose LPN?
I chose the LPN route because being a single mom, having to work a full time job to support my family, LPN was the only choice because it was a part time/evening/weekend program. I graduated in June, I take my exam this Tuesday (wish me luck). It has taken me this long because of family obligations. Once I pass, (I am keeping a positive attitude here, that I will pass), I plan to start RN program at Boehecker, I've been told that the schedule is a flexible one.

Taking NCLEX on Tuesday
Well, I am taking the NCLEX on Tuesday. I feel I am about as prepared as I will ever be. I have read alot of others' experiences on the board and it has given me some comfort and I am prepared for the overwhelming feeling of failure that others' have described after completing their tests. With that said, through studying practice questions, positive affirmations, and prayer, I feel I am about as prepared as I will ever be. Wish me luck, I am keeping a positive attitude.

my nclex story
Thank you for posting your story. I haven't taken my NCLEX yet, plan on doing that in July. I enjoyed reading your experience. I've already got myself failing before I even go to take the test. Your experience has really given me insight. Although, I know I will be just like you with the brow beating myself until I find out if I pass. Thank you again for sharing your experience.

LPN North Adult Columbus, Ohio
Yes, CSCC's program is still part time. The only thing that a person needs to be careful of with the CPS program and doing a bridge program is that you need to make sure you get college credit for your courses, I have heard that not all the classes taken in programs like CPS's transfer over to college credit and you may have to repeat some courses. Now, this is what instructors have said, may or may not be true.
