LPN night classes available

Published

I currently reside in NY. I originally started going to Kingsborough to become RN. Now i have encountered a road block. I work full time and take care of myself financially. I do not have anyone that can financially support me in order for me to take the Nursing classes necessary to get my degree. My work schedule does not allow me to go to school on the weekends because i work EVERY weekend. I take care of myself, two kids and Pepper ( my shihtzu) I really want to continue moving forward but i need some serious advice. :o Unfortunately the school advisors do not give realistic advice. I am considering going to school specifically to become an LPN, become an LPN, gain experience in the field while going to school to become an RN. I want to secure a position in the health field so that i could move out of NY and be able to secure a job when i move out of state. Are there any schools that i could go to in the PM to get my LPN certificate? Can i use the certificate that i recieve in NY in any other state (specifically Texas)?

I have completed all the pre req classes, at least that kingsborough required, prior to taking the nursing classes, are these classes transferable when i change to an LPN program? HELP!!!!!!!!:uhoh3:

Specializes in Clinical exp in OB, psy, med-surg, peds.

Just graduated from kingsborough rn program, and they do have a night rn program, so check that out, take note that with nursing, you have to sacrifice, it is not easy but it is well worth it.

Specializes in Operating room..

Ivy Tech in Indiana has night and Saturday morning classes. I am familiar with North Central...don't know what the others do. It is a very good school with almost a 100% NCLEX pass rate.
