I am in the process of applying to an LPN program, about to take the TEAS test and all that fun stuff...However, I wanted to know if anyone went into a program like this without any previous experience, such as CNA? The only similar experience I have is helping my grandparents with eating and things like that. Thanks!

I had prior experience but some of my classmates had none. You'll be fine.

I went into the LPN program straight out of highschool, lol. So I really had NO medical experience of any kind, you actually beat me by taking care of grandparents, so don't worry :)

At least half of my class or more (LPN) has zero medical background of any kind, and the program heads like it that way- it makes for a good balance of perspectives. My med surg teacher says that being a CNA or whatever before nursing school isn't always a great thing because you might have spent years doing lots of things the wrong way or in an unsafe way.
Ok thanks everyone :) I was nervous that I wasnt gonna do well because of that but I feel reassured!

I had no experience at all, I also graduated high school in 1987.
I graduated valedictorian, so experience doesn't always matter.
