Kaiser Permanente LVN

Does any of you guys work at Kaiser as LVN?

I have couple friends who got LVN jobs at Kaiser right after they passed their NCLEX (within 2-3 months)

I would love to work for Kaiser, perhaps outpatient or family medicine.

Any feedback or advice is much appreciated.

I heard Kaiser is tough to break into, regardless of whether you are a LVN or RN. If they were hired recently, your friends were pretty lucky.

I've never worked for them though so I can't tell you what the experience there is like.

Take any position posted. Almost every LVN hired I'm aware of in the last few years started as on-call or short hour and worked as much or as little as they wanted. One on-call had no idea she would be called as often as she is, she is now eligible for conversion. Also some changes may be coming in skill mix (number of RN, LVN and MA) in the clinics so stay on top of new postings. Good luck!

actually 5 classmates that i graduate with from LVN SCHOOL got hired without any experience. yes, they are realy lucky. i didn't think of applying at that time because i wanted to go straight for RN program. but after hearing about the waitlist for the bridge programs in OC, i thought working would be a great experience for me before i start Rn bridge program

Damn...that is pretty impressive that they got hired.

I agree, working would very good for you while you're waiting on getting in: it's a paycheck as well as nursing experience. IMO, definitely keep applying. Good luck getting in!
