LPN Homehealth th in Fla

Published

This is for any LPN's who work Homehealth in Fla. I currently work for Maxim and do one case (ped) and have not talked to any other agencies out there yet. As soon as I graduated I went straight to Med/Surg hospital work then went and did this one case. I was wondering if any of the Other LPN"s in Fla who do homehealth here can tell me if you do any visits? Or do you do cases? I was hoping to do visits and wondering if what they pay in Fla for that and what agency to check with that is particularly good? I would like to ease myself away from maxim, that is why I don't ask them. Thanks in advance for you insight!!!

Specializes in HHC,SNF.

I work in HH in Florida. I have worked for the same company for the last year. Before that I worked for another HHC for almost 2 years. I do visits.

There are tons of HHC that mainly do visits.....usually you need to go to a medicare HHC. Where do you live in Fl? Pay depends on that and experience

"pm" me if you have further questions!

I met a nurse from Florida who relocated to another state to make more money and who maintained her home in Florida. Happens she worked for Maxim in both states and was not their biggest fan. She got a job with the VA and thus had limited availabilty left over for Maxim. The coordinators kept being pushy with her trying to get her to work shifts she wasn't able to or interested in, so basically she told them off since the VA job was full time and putting together her mortgage payment and living expenses. She never mentioned any of the other companies that she had worked for in Florida. Her goal was to make as much money as possible then return to Florida with a better financial picture. Unless you get some candid input from several employees, you just have to try out different agencies and work with the one that is the best for you. You can call before applying to get some general info, like in your case you want to go with an agency that does visits. You can make a list of the agencies' rates of pay and benefits packages and other attributes and pick the one to stay with that offers you the best deal. Unless nurses hear by word of mouth who to stay away from, they usually engage in a trial and error process to find the best agency for them. Good luck.
