LPN Fast Track Program Question's

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

Hello, I called Gateway today to ask what the pre req's were for the fast track LPN program.

I felt rushed off the phone (as I always do when calling Gateway nursing) & she only answerd some of my questions...or at least I felt that way becuase she just said the same answer's over & over again lol.

I was told this is a program for companies that send there CNA's through the program & each run of the program there were few seats to be filled by other students like myself since I am not affiliated with a company...Is this true? because I hear a lot on here about people considering it. I wonder if they are affiliated w/ a company? Hmmmm. also, amny of the pre req's for the program are not listed on the web site. Athough, she told me them twice & added a a few new ones the second time...I'M SO CONFUSED & who I spoke with was terribly no help!

* I would like to know what the pre req's are for this program?

* What the wait list is like?

* Is this an accelerated program? thus, fast track.

* Do they offer financial aid for this program?

* What is the schedule like? clinical schedule?

& any other info. from expereince would help too. I'm seriousy considering this program.

**Thanks in advance1

So, application time is coming in about a month- Im pretty excited- Hoping & praying I make it into this January class

I am looking at Gateway's website but don't see the LPN program application. Can anyone point me to it? Also, do you know if they will take the old Medical Term. class back when it was HCC 100? Thanks!

There is no application online for the program because in September, when it comes out, you have to make an appointment with an advisor & pick it up from them. Also, from last time I spoke with an advisor there, the only current prerequesite is to be a CNA- no HCC classes are required..

When did you talk to the advisor? Are you sure no HCC classes are required?

Is there a point system or ranking order for the available spots?

I spoke with Betty, an advisor with Gatways nursing program- I hope its right, or im screwed!!

From what I know, theres like 30 seats open for the semester, and the Fast track program is mostly devoted to companys- say like Cigna wants to put 5 people through nursing school, they get the spots first- SO its really just first come first serve from what she told me & I heard... So I wanna be first! :) lol

thanks for the input

Would someone mind giving me insight into my job prospects after the LPN or RN?

Must admit my age (52) and math/science skills worry me

My goal is labor and delivery...

Thank you
