I am wondering if anyone can help with some questions. I am a 37 yr old Mother to 4.
I am looking to take the Pre-entrance exam for the LPN class at BOCES. I am a high school drop out. I did go back and get my GED, however, I am petrified because that was 7 years ago. I recently attended classes and obtained my Certified Nursing Assistant Certification but I am so afraid of failure. I have MAJOR anxiety and self confidence issue's. Can anyone tell me how hard the entrance exam is?? I just went online and ordered a bunch of study guides for Basic English, Math, Biology. Can anyone tell me what else I might need. I really want to do well. My marriage is falling apart and I truly need to know that I will be able to take care of my Kid's.
Thanks in advance.
BTW... I will be taking the test at The Capital Area Boces in Albany.

My daughter just took it and was very nervous. She did very well. It wasn't bad. She too had a review book for the test, which I picked up at Barnes and Nobel for about $15. There is plenty of Math and little Bio. Study your math.
Good Luck !!:):nurse:

I took it at age 42 and did well for someone out of school as long as I was. I took it here is upstate NY at BOCES also. It was basic math with %, ratios, etc. Basic English with comprehension questions. We also had to write a short essay on one question we selected from three. I think mine was about late term abortions.

Did you ever end up taking the entrance test? I am a stay at home mom getting ready to take the TEAS in Saratoga Springs. If I don't pass that I am going to take the test over at the Albany BOCES.
I am getting ready to take the TEAS in Hudson falls NY in about 3 weeks. Has anyone already take the test there for this fall school year?
