LPN-BSN Programs?

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello All,

I posted this in the LPN/LVN forum before I saw this one (pardon me!! newbie still fumbling around!!:imbar )

Has anyone researched around about the few LPN-BSN programs out there?

I am nearing the end of my LPN program and have applied for the RN (ADN)program at the same college--but have grown curious as these programs have come to my attention.

I should add that I already have a B.S.--wonder if that would help in either LPN or RN-BSN bridge programs and to what extent.

Just wondering if anyone has any information or feedback at all.

Thank you in advance.

:)

Respectfully,

ElaineVT

I am in NM, and was told as an LVN, if I were to pursue the BSN, none of my LVN courses would be valid and would have to start all over again.

If you decide to do this, contact me, I have a ton of the guides with TCN for the LPN to BSN program. I would be happy to tell you about it a bit (I'm in the program)

Indiana State University has a LPN-BSN distance program through The College Network. I've researched this program as well. I'm almost about to enroll if I don't get accepted in a LPN-ADN program by June 2007.

I have heard that if you a Bachelor's degree, some states have an accelerated program, here in NM or at least Las Cruces, they have whats called the Roadrunner program, I believe it's a year or year an d a half for the RN

Hi, Elaine!

I think your best chance of finding the information about an LPN to BSN program is to just call your state board of registered nursing. If anyone knows about such a program, they will know. If you can afford it, you could also call the state boards of the states around you. You can also check their web sites as well. I don't remember seeing any LPN to BSN programs listed on any of the state board sites. However, many state board websites do have a list of approved RN schools usually broken down by ADN and BSN programs. Just about all schools have websites and you can always check the nursing departments of the BSN schools to see of they have such a program. Just something to do on a quiet Sunday morning, you know. You can get links to the state boards of nursing by running your mouse over the "Links" button at the top right of this page. A menu appears. Click on "Boards of Nursing" and a page of links to all the state boards of nursing comes up.

do you have the address of this site? I, too, am interested for the LVN-RN,BSN...

The website is indstate.edu and then go to nursing.
