Hello All,
I posted this in the LPN/LVN forum before I saw this one (pardon me!! newbie still fumbling around!!:imbar )
Has anyone researched around about the few LPN-BSN programs out there?
I am nearing the end of my LPN program and have applied for the RN (ADN)program at the same college--but have grown curious as these programs have come to my attention.
I should add that I already have a B.S.--wonder if that would help in either LPN or RN-BSN bridge programs and to what extent.
Just wondering if anyone has any information or feedback at all.
Thank you in advance.
:)
Respectfully,
ElaineVT

Elaine...you should recieve credit for some of the courses you have taken. You didn't say what state you are in, but I did the LPN to RN/BSN course here in Illinois at St. Xavier University. Of course, each SON has their own rules and regs....

Tarleton State University has an affordable LVN-to-BSN program. It is located in north Texas near the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.
Angelo State University, which is located in the west Texas city of San Angelo, has an LVN-to-BSN program that is highly acclaimed.
Thank you both so much for your replies.
I honestly had not even known such bridge programs (LPN>RN) existed until recently!
I am still digging around.
Texas, while appealing is a bit far...but if accredited and affordable--might just to investigate further.
I am in Vermont...hence EVT...Elaine VT.
Thanks Again.

Hi, Elaine!
I think your best chance of finding the information about an LPN to BSN program is to just call your state board of registered nursing. If anyone knows about such a program, they will know. If you can afford it, you could also call the state boards of the states around you. You can also check their web sites as well. I don't remember seeing any LPN to BSN programs listed on any of the state board sites. However, many state board websites do have a list of approved RN schools usually broken down by ADN and BSN programs. Just about all schools have websites and you can always check the nursing departments of the BSN schools to see of they have such a program. Just something to do on a quiet Sunday morning, you know. You can get links to the state boards of nursing by running your mouse over the "Links" button at the top right of this page. A menu appears. Click on "Boards of Nursing" and a page of links to all the state boards of nursing comes up.

Hi Elaine,
Try going to this website www.discovernursing.com I have found it to be very helpful. All you have to do is input the type of information you're looking for and it pulls up schools in your state.

There aren't any LPN-BSN programs in the Atlanta area that I know of (and I have looked). There are a couple of LPN-RN programs (ADN), then you can do RN-BSN after that. That might be the route I take.

Indiana State University has a LPN-BSN distance program through The College Network. I've researched this program as well. I'm almost about to enroll if I don't get accepted in a LPN-ADN program by June 2007.
