Lpn bridge program and clinic job

Published

Is it possible to be able to work in a clinic or out patient center and be in a LPN bridge program? Is my only option to work in LTC and then bridge? I am a few years away from these options but I'm just trying to make a game plan.

I'm looking into both a LPN-RN or LPN to BSN programs if I decide to get my LPN license first.

Yes! It is very possible! I am currently working in a clinic Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30. I get home a little bit after 5 each day. I have been during LPN to RN online with excelsior college as so far so good. I have about 6 months left (Hopefully) in the program. I started while working full time and I am still full time. Very possible, very doable. Then again, I don't have kids ;) ...I still maintain a very busy lifestyle but I don't think my "busy" lifestyle right now is comparable to kids. Good luck!

About how much is the program and how long does it take? I tried to look into prices but it seemed to vague.

How much is the program? I went to their website but it seemed vague. How long is it?

About $8,000. You go at your own pace. Can be done in one year, can be done in 5. I am trying to get mine done by 18months :-)

That's better than I was expecting! Do you start whenever you want? Do you still do clinicals? If you do then do you set them up yourself?

I forgot to ask do you get any financial aid? I'm looking specifically for student loans.

I work in a clinic (not the most thrilling but it pays the bills!) Monday through Friday, 8:30 to 5 and am currently doing bridge pre reqs in the evening . Once I start my clinicals I will have no choice other than day clinicals though so we will see how that works out

Oh and I go to a community college bridge program.

Excelsior College - excelsior.edu. You do set them up yourself. Check out the website for more info. It's a great program.

I've been to the website before. I was just looking got information from first hand experience. One of my worries about a clinic job and a traditional bridge program at a brick and mortar school would be finding ways to balance both. I'm open to either way online or traditional.
