I have a bachelors in health services adminstration. Decided to go to LPN school so I can then bridge over to RN easier. I'm almost maxed out of loans cause i have a 4 yr degree already so I rather get a a job as an LPN an have my employer pay for my RN. I had to do LPN first cause the wait list to RN was ridiculously Long. And also wanted to work as a nurse while I'm getting my RN to get a good income. Bridging over is easier to me.
Try looking into the Accelerated BSN programs. Having a bachelors makes you eligible and is much easier to get into over the traditional program. I just graduated last friday from a PN program and while it is a great way to get your foot in the door and start working I would choose a RN program first any day.

Hi there-
I have been trying to figure out what to do with my life since I graduated from college two years ago. I have a Bachelor's in Gerontology, and I have experience working as a director of recreation in a LTC facility. I don't think I want to be an administrator, and I don't want to do recreation anymore. When I first graduated, I almost went for my RN at a local community college. I took the A&P prerequisite I needed there, but I really didn't like the school, so I didn't apply.
Now I am thinking about a local PN program, and possibly doing case management or even sticking to nursing if I like it. Do many people get their BA before their LPN?
Would it be advantageous for me to have an LPN in addition to my BA in Gerontology?
Thank you all
