LPN-Atlantic, McFatter, Sheridan Tech April 2014 anyone??

If I am not to late I would like to start in April. I haven't taken the teas yet though. I am trying to get everything accomplish thus week. Have you taken the teas if so thoughts?

Hey. I received the letter from McFatter and am scheduled for a Mandatory PN orientation on the 7th of April. I have received a book list, but am still going to wait and see if the list is up to date during the orientation. We will be able to register the day of the orientation, and talk about financial aid. I am not sure if this means I was accepted, but the letter I received is said to be the acceptance letter. The letter also states the program's first day is April 24, 2014.

The TEAS was more difficult than the TABE. I scored max scores on the TABE on all 3 subjects, but I was surprised to find out I didn't do as well on the TEAS. The science section was the section I should have studied more on. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to study since I took the TEAS the day after I registered for it. What saved my score was my strength on the Language and Reading sections of the TEAS. My science score wasn't all that great but managed with an overall of a 74, which is considered proficient. You just need a 58.7 or higher for the program I believe.

There were quite a few dominant and recessive traits questions on the TEAS, and other simple questions like knowing what peristalsis is. Also, a lot of earth space science questions, and I didn't see any physics questions.

After the program I hope to work in private care, or even corrections. These are the two fields that interest me the most as a practical nurse.

I am anxious to start, specially after all the running around I had to do to turn everything in! Haha.

I'm attending Sheridan Technical College Orientation tomorrow for the LPN Program Spring term which starts April 23, 2015 at 8:15am. I'm trying to start the process as quickly as possible and I've been studying for the TABE Test, I don't know if we take the TABE the same day of orientation or a different day, and I also I want to know how long does the whole process takes?? HELP HELP HELP!!!!!!

I didn't have to take the Tabe because of my AA degree. I took the Teas only. What you have yo do is a background, physical, drug test and in your case the Tabe and the Teas. I start May 15 since I have core completed I don't have to start in april. I will be attending Mcfatter and they have you turn in all your paper work beforehand then you attend orientation so orientation for me is April 10.

It all depends on how you do on the test if you get those out the way you can go to your personal doctor for the physical or to Doctors 365 for the physical.

Omg thanks for the info. everyone I went to orientation today at Sheridan Tech I am scheduled to take the TABE Test Wednesday; April 8, 2015 and it's also the deadline to register for the TEAS V Test which is April 13, 2015 but they said I am not able to take TEAS V Test until I pass and have my scores for the TABE Test. I have my physical and immunization shot records, I have my insurance, I just need to take the TABE test, TEAS V test, get a background check, and drug test before April 23, 2015. It's really frustrating that they won't let you sign up for TABE and TEAS V test at the same time ughh!

@Collen2014 how was the TEAS V Test, was it difficult? Or was it moderate?

Yeah thats normally how it's done when you show your Tabe scores they will allow you to register for the Teas. The Teas was kind of difficult for me only because it's been a while and the science was challenging but you need a 55% overall to pass. The background is $47 I just retool mines last week since it was going to expire since the last time I took it. What about the drug test did you take that. I wish I could go to Sheridan it's closer to my house but I work at nights and the time they get out is too late for me so I will stick with Mcfatter.

@Colleen2014 I didn't take the drug test yet, I'm waiting on my TABE Scores to come in the mail, I don't think I'm going to be able to do the Spring Term because by the time I get everything it will to late, so I'll just Start the Fall term.

HI! I graduated from Sheridan Technical's LPN Program in April 2014. I moved out of Broward 3 days after I passed the NCLEX and settled in North Florida. I will tell you to STUDY, STUDY, STUDY, & enjoy and soak up all tat you can from your clinicals! GOOD LUCK to you all!!
