Hi everyone! I was just accepted to Loyola Chicago's ABSN program (hybrid cohort) for Spring 2020 and figured I would start a discussion as a place for classmates to start meeting (assuming we'll probably transition this to Facebook ha) Looking forward to January! ?

Hey, where did you find the admission letter on the portal? Would you be able to tell me the steps? because my "application checklist got updated to "admit check list" and I got the universal id but haven't received my acceptance letter! please help!
@naisuthakkar hi there! my application got updated in parts. first my my "application checklist got updated to "admit check list" and then a few hours later I received my ID and then a few hours after that, it asked me for a deposit. a few hours after that, an "update" button appeared that led me to the letter! I would say that you are in, but just wait for that letter before you get too excited! I was in the same shoes as you, best of luck!

@scv181012 Thank you so much for replying. I just got my acceptance letter. I was just getting too nervous but I am so happy! Thank you again
Hi everyone! I will be soon be applying for Loyola's Spring 2021 ABSN online hybrid program, and was wondering if anyone would be willing to share their experience now after having begun the program? I'm curious what the overall experience has been like so far, if you feel like it will be a valuable program that will prepare you for a nursing career, what the schedule is like/how manageable it is, what the online experience has been like for anyone doing it, and any general advice or observations you'd have for someone like me trying to decide if this is the way to go.
I live in Chicago and have a family, so the flexibility of the remote classes is appealing; I also have a car so travel shouldn't be a problem.
Thank you for any insights you're willing to share from your experience!!

I also checked this thread out for the same thing. We should start a threat separate for the 2021 cohort! Can you tell me some areas in Chicago that would be near campus? I just wanted to check out potential roommates and what that search would be like when its time (if I get admitted) ?
Hi everyone,
congrats on everyone that has been accepted. I’m curious if this school is on the harder or easier schools to get into. I would love to get accepted but not sure if I should look at several other options as I don’t have a strong GPA being at a 3.0. I know this is a private school and hope it’s a bit easier to get in than most public. If anyone can share with me any of their stats or how they felt about this please let me know. I’ve been accepted to a private school before but the price was over 100k so I find Loyola to be more affordable but don’t want to lose my spot as well.
Hello everyone I am currently a 4th semester student moving into my final semester. My GPA was a 3.2 when applying. It all depends on credentials and interview. Being priority is key so make sure you apply early because there are student from all over doing the same. I want to give a fair warning that just because you have a high GPA does not guarantee entry. So just make sure you at least have the minimum. Make sure that majority of your prerequisites are completed before applying because you will not be able to continue with school if they are courses are not passed and completed. It is a very rigorous program all distractions must be eliminated. Your GPA will be calculated according to the classes that must be completed for entry into the school. If you have all the credentials and maybe one or two more classes to take I would apply no need to worry the worrying starts when you are actually in nursing school LOL. I wish everyone the best of luck!
