Just wondered if anyone knew someone whose sperms were slow swimmers but they managed to father a child?

If that person has not already, they should see a urologist who specializes in male infertility.

My girlfriend was told that between her fertility issues and his low quality sperm (low count, poor motility) they would never have kids. Their daughter just turned 7.

I have a 5 year old son and one on the way. I was diagnosed with PCOS and my husband was diagnosed with malformed, low motility, poor quality sperm. It is very possible after all you only need one good one to fertilize the egg.

I agree with the others on here. It may take longer, but I think its VERY possible. They may swim slow, but eventually that one will make it there. Just think of all the fun trying in the meantime.

Depending on the cause, look at some of the reasons for low sperm count or slow sperm motility.
Extreme Heat (Jacuzzi), drug use, alcohol use, varicose veins, Nutritional issues like high zinc, hormones, steroids, medications.
Yes it is still possible to fertilize an egg. Except that certain things may help when still unsucessful.
Ice packs to scrotum, no drugs or alcohol, varicose surgery, these are just examples but it depends on the cause. Artificial insemination is sometimes successful.
